Unheard-of Artist? I Say Change That!

Ever come across an artist who, under an unfortunate circumstance, is not well-known? But SHOULD BE? This happens to me all the time. I will be browsing on the internet, coming across random sites, and I will hear a song on a site and... boom! I guess "boom" isn't quite the right word for the feeling I get when I come across a marvelous artist, but it will suffice for now. Anyways, I was blog browsing and Jon Auer was an artist someone mentioned in their blog. I looked him up, and turns out, he is fantastic. Check him out by clicking on the link below.

Lazy Sundays

It's Sunday! But sadly, the day is almost over. Sunday; What I consider to be the best day of the week. For me, it is a day of homework, a day of relaxation, and a day where you can just start the week off fresh. Everything that happened in the previous week, can, and should be, forgotten. That is my philosophy, at least. We all wish for new starts, so why not make a new start every Sunday? Come on people! Take advantage of this new beginning! Sunday is not only great for laziness, movie watching, and a large consumption of food. But it is a great day to change something in your life that you are unhappy about. So here is a challenge for all of you: if there is something in your life that doesn't live up to what you deserve, maybe a bad grade or a bad relationship or a bad habit, change it, and change it TODAY! Don't wait to do this, you can do it now. It is your life, and you have control over it. You deserve the absolute best, so go out and make it happen. You have it in you to change whatever you set your mind to. Never doubt yourself! Believe in yourself. I know I believe in all of you.

Where Is The Love?

Some go throughout their entire lives looking for that "special someone." They will try everything; blind dates, websites, even the desperate spur-of-the-moment call to the dreaded ex. Many ask the question, "Why can't it just be easy?" See a handsome, mysterious guy. Possibly a little stubble. Cute smile, cuter laugh. You make eye contact and boom. You both just... know. This is it! The one you have been waiting for. So you fall in love, have 4, maybe 5 kids, and live happily ever after. The end credits glide across the screen and the audience gets up and leaves. The end...
Why isn't life like this? Why is life, real life, so hard? Maybe it just seems that way to me considering I am merely 16 years old. I know that I have the rest of my life to meet the guy for me. But sometimes, it is hard to believe. Believe... that is the word. The one that we need to hold onto. Hold onto that, and we will be okay. There is someone for everyone. I believe that. I believe that! Belief.. I guess that is my theme for the day. Belief, hope... love. It will all come together. Someday.

Manic Mondays

It is Monday. And as The Bangles put it, I "Wish it was Sunday.. That's my fun day." However, I am surprisingly calm and cool for a Monday night. No homework done. But that's OK. It will get done. What is it about Monday's that make the sky so gray and gloomy?! It literally is EVERY MONDAY. The weather is against us! We must change that. With HAPPY music. Duh :) It is Monday, but never fear! It will be Tuesday tomorrow. Which isn't Monday. So, the weather better cooperate hehe.

Love, Bre

Relationships

Why is it that every relationship, whether it be parent to child, friend to friend, significant other to significant other, is so messed up? Better yet.. why is the world, why are PEOPLE, so screwed up? It does not make sense to me. Why can't we just make our mistakes, apologize, shed a tear or if it's really screwed up, maybe two tears, and then MOVE ON? I don't get it. Ugh. People are just.. pissing me off. Making me sad. Making me confused. The usual. As I post more blogs you will realize just how much I cannot stand people. I need my sleep. Here's some music. Listen to it. I know that when I do, I hate people a little less. Considering 'people' write this shit. And it is good shit. Okay bye.

Love, Bre

"Get Over It" by Love Gone Mad
"Somebody That I Used To Know" by Elliott Smith
"Le Ciel Dans Une Chambre" by Carla Bruni
"In The Sun" by Joseph Arthur*

* I have decided each post, I am going to have a song that you are forced to listen to. Yes, you must do it. Want to know why? Because it is my favorite song of the list. And I put it in the list because it is simply amazing. The lyrics, the sound, the.. pure fricken awesomeness! Yeah.. that's why it is the one you just have to listen to. It will have an asterisk (this thing: *) next to it. Okay bye loves.

Paris vs New York, a tally of two cities: le piéton

Follow THIS! :)

Look, My Very First Blog Post Ever

Hello to whoever is reading this! If you are reading this, there is no doubt in my mind it is because you are alone at your computer at 3:20 in the morning searching for one of the thousands of unknown blogs about music, and well, you found mine, which quite frankly, makes me happy. I have so much music I want to share with the world.. Well, I think I will conquer my town first. Although my town is mostly musically retarded, considering Weezy is most everyones favorite. Please don't cringe. I know, it is hard not to. But don't worry, I will make that all better, with GOOD music. I've got your back.. whomever you may be. Currently I am listening to "Watch The Sunrise" by Big Star. Which is ironic, considering the sun will in fact be rising in a matter of hours. This song makes me so happy. No matter what mood I am in, this song can put a smile on my face. So, to all of the sad souls out there: listen to this song! Yes, you! Do it! Right now! :)
